Meet Ryan M. Flynn, LCSW
Clinician, Consultant, Trainer
Hey there, I’m Ryan.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania and Delaware, and I work with adult men who are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or stretched thin in their personal or professional lives. I come to this role with over 10+ years of experience in mental health and human services. My experience encompasses a variety of settings from crisis to residential to outpatient, and a number of different roles from social worker to therapist to clinical supervisor.
I earned my Master of Social Work from Bryn Mawr College; and my Master of Health Administration from the University of Scranton. I am a proud member of the international Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT.)
Alongside my therapy practice, I also teach and train other professionals through guest lectures, conference presentations, and workshops on motivational interviewing. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me on a hiking trail or reading a good horror novel.
If you’re considering therapy and want a grounded, collaborative place to start, I invite you to reach out and see if working together feels like a good fit.
If you’re an organization or professional group interested in trainings, workshops, or presentations on motivational interviewing, feel free to get in touch to explore options.
Why Choose Me?
I offer counseling and professional trainings on the following...

Anxiety & Stress
When pressure never lets up, stress can turn into irritability, exhaustion, or numbness. I help men slow the cycle, understand what their stress is doing to them, and find ways to cope that don’t involve just pushing harder.
Career Burnout
Healthcare workers and emergency responders are trained to stay functional under pressure—often at the expense of themselves. We focus on managing nervous system overload, moral injury, and the toll of always being “the one who handles it.”
Relationships
If you tend to shut down, avoid conflict, or feel misunderstood, therapy can help make sense of those patterns. We work on communication, emotional awareness, and building connections that feel more genuine.

Intimacy and Sexual Concerns
Dating fatigue, performance anxiety, sexual shame, or mismatched desire can create stress and self-doubt. I provide a non-judgmental space to talk through these issues and reduce the pressure around sex and intimacy.
Life Transitions
Divorce, career changes, health issues, or feeling stuck in midlife can shake your sense of who you are. I help men navigate these transitions with clarity, grounded decision-making, and a renewed sense of direction.
Fatherhood and Family
Becoming a parent—or caring for family members—can bring unexpected stress, guilt, or emotional strain. Therapy can help you break old patterns, show up more intentionally, and balance responsibility with your own well-being.
