Individual Psychotherapy and Professional Development

Individual Psychotherapy

I use a blend of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Together, we create a space that’s practical, collaborative, and grounded in what actually matters to you.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT is less about “getting rid” of stress, anxiety, or difficult thoughts—and more about changing how you relate to them. We work on:

  • Making room for uncomfortable thoughts and feelings instead of constantly fighting them or judging yourself for having them

  • Noticing patterns that pull you away from the life you want to be living

  • Clarifying your values—what really matters to you beneath the noise, pressure, and expectations

  • Taking meaningful action, even when things feel hard or uncertain

ACT recognizes that life is stressful, messy, and imperfect—and helps you stay grounded and intentional anyway.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

MI shapes how our conversations work. Rather than being told what to do or pushed toward change, MI:

  • Meets you exactly where you are, including ambivalence or uncertainty

  • Honors your autonomy—you decide what change looks like and when

  • Helps you explore what’s working, what’s not, and what you want to be different

  • Turns insight into realistic, self-directed steps

You don’t need to be “ready” or have everything figured out to start. We slow things down, listen for what matters, and build momentum at your pace.

What This Means in Practice

Our work together is:

  • Collaborative, not prescriptive

  • Honest, without pressure or judgment

  • Focused on clarity, direction, and follow-through

  • Oriented toward building a life that feels more aligned and sustainable

If you’re looking for a thoughtful, grounded approach to therapy—one that respects your pace and centers what matters to you—I invite you to reach out and start the conversation.

I have current availability for evenings and telehealth in both Pennsylvania and Delaware. I am credentialed with some insurances and open to sliding scale. Click the button below for more information.

Motivational Interviewing Training and Workshops

For organizations, agencies, and professional teams

In addition to clinical work, I provide engaging, practical training in Motivational Interviewing for professionals across healthcare, human services, behavioral health, and emergency response settings. Trainings are designed for organizations seeking to strengthen engagement, communication, and workforce retention.

My trainings focus on making MI usable—not theoretical—helping teams build stronger engagement, reduce burnout, and navigate resistance with more confidence and clarity. Sessions are tailored to your setting and can range from introductory overviews to skill-building workshops.

Training offerings may include:

  • Introduction to Motivational Interviewing

  • Practical MI skills for frontline staff

  • Using MI to reduce resistance and burnout

  • MI for healthcare, human services, and crisis settings

  • Custom workshops for teams and organizations

Trainings are available virtually and can be adapted for staff meetings, in-service days, conferences, or professional development events.
